The question here is not about Filaret, what was the UOC of USA'sproblem when the KP was led by Patriarch Volodymyr, who they ordained to the priesthood..... Oh yes, Bishop Antony was a candidate for Patriarch of The KP church and he now says he was never part of it..... Sounds like a money and power struggle.... nothing religious about it. The KP is not just "Filaret" it is the Patriarchate for Ukraine. It is funny that someone earlier mentioned THe unification of the UAOC and the MP as the goal of unification... THe MP is Russian and the UAOC has no power or leitimacy anymore under Metrop. Mefodiy. They should unite and become the Russian Orthodox Church in Ukraine. And stop fooling people into believeing they have Ukrainian interests in mind.

"Reality Check", as a member of the 4th wave do you realize that the priest from your home parish in Ukraine cannot serve Divine Liturgy in your parish in the USA, but any Russian priest can? Does that make any sense? Additionally, the churches in the USA do not belong to the UOC of USA. They belong to the people! Bound Brook is suing parishes that don't agree with them. Trying to take away the churches and property from the parishioners that built the church and have supported it financially, physically and spiritually. How are these moves different from what Moscow did to the churches, land and food of Ukraine? Did it belong to Moscow? The only difference is that Moscow used force and Bound Brook is trying to use the US legal system. Also, Bound Brook is using finances that were donated by the same people they are suing. How are members of the old immigration not to see the parallels of the pohroms and night-time takeovers of their churches? The UOC of USA is spiritually bankrupt and on the verge of financial bankruptcy. They have been stealing from endowments for years to pay everyday bills. Again, money donated by the people. If there is such great growth and rejuvenation why do the hierarch's of UOC of USA steal from these endowments? Maybe you need to check your "Reality" more thoroughly!!!!

If Ukrainian's comments are true, then Filaret had the guts and did the right thing to remove bishop Paisiy from his post! This type of a move would be good in the UOC of USA for the same reasons, not of traditional sexual orientation. Unfortunately, the bishops of the UOC-USA would have to remove themselves. You may ask former seminarians and priests that were ordained in the last 20 years in the USA.

It is obvious you are from the fourth wave, The UOC of USA has no rights to any property. The Change from Sobornopravnist to the Synodal character of the UOC of USA might have you believe that they have rights to property, but if you check the Statuts of all of the parishes each was the legitimate owner of their own property. This aside, The hierarchy of the USA of USA as they have renamed it from the times of Metropolitan Theodorovich and Mstyslav have breached the statut of our church in the USA in more than one way 1. The church statut says we are to be sobornopravniy, in a court document Archbishop Antony quotes " the church is Synodal" 2. The signing of any agreement on behalf of the faithful of the UOC of USA without a vote at a sobor is illegal and a breach. 3. The nominating or ordaining of any hierarch for the UOC is to be voted on at the Sobor. 4. The metroplitan council and The hierarchs have a fiduciary responsibility to uphold the constitution of the UOC of USA unless it is changed .... again only by a sobor. Unfortunately the term sobornopravnist was short lived in Ukraine and even Patriarch Filaret agrees the parishes in the USA should be sobornopravnyj, You obviously do not know the churches history nor the laws that governed our church in the USA for over 50 years. How can anyone sign points of agreement on behalf of the faithful without their knowledge and vote, and worst of all sign a document that agrees to never seek independence for the UOC. Something Metroplitan Lypkiwskyj, Patriarch Mstyslav and Volodymyr devoted their lives to . Not to mention that it is o.k. to serve with the OCA? A russian is o.k. but ukrainains are not? How absurd and hypocritical. You are limited both in knowledge and in patriotism. I am UKRAINIAN and proud!!!

By the property, which belongs to UOC of USA, I mean that the handful of parishes in USA, now occupied by KP as a part of KP's failed experiment in USA, should be returned to the legitamate owner - to UOC of USA.

During that time Filaret suddenly started to play a role of a patriot. KP has a very small number of parishes in USA. Look at the physical size of small churches, which were announced Cathedrals of KP in Cooper City and Chicago. Will you find any young people in the “Cathedral” in Cooper City? This property belongs to UOC of USA as a matter of fact. Of course, we, Ukrainians deserved our Local Orthodox Church. But it will be built upon the unity of UAOC and UOC-MP and that Church will accept from the schism all healthy portions of KP as well – those would be tired from its current status. And this Local Orthodox Church in Ukraine will be recognized by all Orthodoxy worldwide.

As a Ukrainian immigrant of fourth wave and a member of the Parish Board of one of “Americanized” parishes of UOC of USA, I have to point out that the statements of J. Jaresko promote certain agenda very far away from real situation. Many of our established parishes started to experience growth and rejuvenation. Several new missions opened up in Georgia, Virginia, Maryland, New York, New Mexico, etc. Many parishes are full of US-born Ukrainians, mixed married couples, converts. That trend successfully flourished in other Canonical Orthodox Jurisdictions – Greeks, Antiochians, Romanians, OCA, etc. Certainly, new immigrants from Ukraine also join our parishes – parishes of UOC of USA of the Patriarchate of Constantinople. Some of them have been ordained. Services take place either in English or in Ukrainian, or in a combination of both, whatever would be necessary for this particular parish. One parish adds Spanish and another one includes Old Slavonic. Look on concelebrations, Mr. Jaresko. Who would serve the Divine Liturgy with KP? Orthodox clergy from all over the world concelebrates with UOC of USA. While the parish in Fort Wayne, Indiana unfortunately indeed closed down three or four years ago, what about the discontinuation of Christ of Hills monastery in Texas, which belonged to KP, and where “the Brethren” were arrested upon allegations of child molestation? So, personal issues do matter. “For there is no good tree which produces bad fruit, nor, on the other hand, a bad tree which produces good fruit” (Luke 6:43). Again, the issues around Bishop Paisiy are pesonal issues. I agree with the decision to discipline those clergy who do not follow the Church and its direction. But The KP is not a person but a living organism which represents the Ukrainian Orthodox around the world. Not the Russian Orthodox in Ukraine such as the MP, not the UAOC which has left its roots as the national autocephalous church of Ukraine which lost many clergy due to the soviet regime and now makes deals with them..... This is the Pomisna Cerkva and sooner or later Ukrainians will recognize that neither Moscow nor Rome will give up their interests in Ukraine and neither want to see a united Ukrainian Orthodox Church such as the one that functioned until 1686 until Moscow bought a patriarchate and forced the Ukrainian church to comply. We Have the right to an independent Ukrainian Orthodox Church under our own Patriarch, this right is given to us by Canon Law! The KP is this church, it serves the national interests of Ukrainians!

KP is not an experiment in the U.S. it is the National Church of Ukraine, It is time for the Bishops in the U.S. to realize this. As the church in the U.S. closes more parishes as they just did in Indiana, people will realize that the only parishes surviving have large immigrant populations who are loyal to the KP, these churches are full week after week, The UOC of USA "americanized" parishes are empty and dying.......
