Volyn Pentecostals Have Land Problems

29.01.2006, [11:20] // Pentecostals //

Volyn Pentecostals Have Land ProblemsLutsk – Bishop Stepan Veremchuk, head of the Volyn Union of Churches of Christians of the Evangelical Faith-Pentecostals (VUCCEF-P), said that land issues are the most problematic for the normal existence of Pentecostal communities in northwestern Ukraine’s Volyn region. RISU’s Ukrainian-language site posted the news on 27 January 2006.

According to the bishop, prejudice is felt against what he said is the largest Protestant church in the Volyn region. Numerous obstacles are placed its way, during evangelizing missions in particular.

The VUCCEF-P is growing rapidly and now numbers 174 communities, with the highest number in the Manevytskyi, Horokhivskyi, Kivertsivskyi, and Kamin-Koshyrskyi districts. The church has a mission, Voice of Hope, and a Biblical Institute. It also publishes the “Voice of Hope” newspaper and “Good News” journal.
