Kyiv -- During a meeting on 26 May 2005, Archbishop Ihor (Isichenko) of Kharkiv and Poltava of the Ukrainian Autocephalous Orthodox Church (UAOC) and Mitred Archpriest Mykhailo Levkovych, head of the committee for the UAOC National Sobor (assembly), shared their opinions on overcoming the crisis in the UAOC.
Fr. Levkovych and members of the committee informed Archbishop Ihor about their plans and offered their vision of the future development of the UAOC. In particular, Fr. Levkovych briefed Archbishop Ihor on the establishment of a committee for the unification of different Orthodox denominations to create one national Orthodox Church. He suggested that the Kharkiv and Poltava eparchy delegate its representatives to work in the committee. In response, Archbishop Ihor promised that the eparchial council of the Kharkiv and Poltava consistory of the UAOC would consider this offer.
