On June 27-29 in Lviv’s Sykhiv neighborhood, the first Christian "Vocations Forum," which will help youths choose their future, will be held. The forum will be conducted as part of the "Year of Christian Vocation," which was proclaimed this year by the Ukrainian Greek-Catholic Church. The pastor of the Church of the Holy Eucharist and head of the Patriarchal Commission on Youth Matters of the UGCC, Fr. Yosyf Milyan, reported about this during a briefing on June 25.
The purpose of the event is to help young people see the variety of possibilities to realize one’s vocation in the modern world, to find their own vocation given by God. During the forum institutions of higher education of Lviv, monastic orders, and Church institutions will present various areas of work.
Participants will have the opportunity to visit institutions of higher education where they will receive comprehensive information about specialties and the specifics of studies. During the forum many attractions will also take place, concerts and showings of short films about the clergy and, of course, festive Liturgies.
The organizers of the forum are the UGCC and the Lviv City Council. The event is being organized on the days of the anniversary of the memorable visit of the Holy Father, Pope John Paul II of blessed memory, to Ukraine. Participating in the forum will be youth of Lviv and many areas of Ukraine, and also monastic orders and commissions of the UGCC and higher educational institutions of Lviv.
