Kyiv-Moscow— On 23 June 2008, the Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church (ROC) held a session to discuss the agenda of the hierarchical council in the coming months. The session was headed by ROC Patriarch Alexis II; permanent members of the Holy Synod – including Hierarchs from Russia, Belarus and Moldova, – Ukrainian Orthodox Church – Metropolitan Volodymyr (Sabodan), and temporary Hierarchs from Uzbekistan and Latvia also attended, according to orthodoxy.org.ua.
