International Conference of Orthodox Chaplains Held in Kyiv

Kyiv— An international conference of Orthodox chaplains organized by the Synodal Department of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church and the Armed Forces of Ukraine is to be held at the Kyiv Monastery of the Caves on 13-15 May 2008. The conference commenced with the blessing of Metropolitain Volodymyr Sabodan, the head of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church – Moscow Patriarchate (UOC-MP).

According to the UOC-MP press-service, the conference draws military chaplains from Poland, Romania, Georgia, Belarus, Moldova, Finland, Estonia, Bulgaria, and other countries.

The forum’s program includes a presentation of national chaplain ministries and a round table discussion of problems of inter-confessional relations in the army.
