Donetsk—Party of Regions leader Viktor Yanukovych attended a ceremony celebrating the addition of a dome to the Ukrainian Orthodox Church-Moscow Patriarchate Church of St. George yesterday in the Donetsk region.
According to unian.net, V. Yanukovych also attended mass along with 1500 residents of Yenakiievo, headed by Bishop Mytrofan (Nikitin) of Horlivka and Sloviansk and Metropolitain Ilarion (Shukalo) of Donetsk and Mariupol. In their welcoming address, the region’s clergy stated that they pray for Yanukovych’s health.
According to news.liga.net, the ministers addressed Yanukovych with the following words: “Let us make this town holy. We pray for you. You are our Orthodox president.”
