Crimean Tatars Voice Irritation to Council of Europe Committee

Simferopol— On 8 April 2008, Crimiean Tatar Mejlis Council head and ex state deputy Refat Chubarov met with a consulting committee of the Council of Europe’s Framework Convention for the Protection of National Minorities in Simferopol to discuss the religious rights in the region.

“None of the well-known crimes against the Crimean Tatars aimed at stirring up international inter-religious hatred have been detected,” stressed Chubarov, who is displeased that the Ukrainian state has been delaying passing laws to renew collective and individual rights of the Crimean Tatar people.
