Ukrainian Greek Catholics Pay 100,000 USD to Regain Possession of Church from Orthodox

03.03.2008, [16:31] // Inter-Christian relations //

Trans-Carpathian Region— Head of the Trans-Carpathian Greek Catholic Diocese, Bishop Milan (Shashik) celebrated on 14 February 2008 a thanksgiving hierarchical liturgy in the Church of Assumption of the town of Tiachiv, which was returned to Greek Catholics after many years of court proceedings, reports Orthodoxy in Ukraine internet edition in reference to a story by the Mukachevo.net agency.
In order to regain their church built by their forefathers, the Greek Catholics agreed to pay 500 000 UAH (100,000 USD) to the Orthodox. The money was gathered from throughout areas under jurisdiction of the Tiachiv Deanery. Many of the faithful even took out loans to be able to raise large amounts in a short time. Bishop Milan thanked the faithful for their love for the Church and the beneficence they showed.

Like you all did in diaspora! Not quite. When the HISTORICAL CHURCH OF THE UKRAINE is finally free, there will be no unia on the territory of Rus', NOT EVEN in Galicia! How the Cossacks will ride into Lvov! LOL!

When the Ukrainian Orthodox Church finally becomes self-governing, the appeal of the unia will decline, and will largely be confined to Galicia.

St. Vincent of Lerins defined the Catholic Faith as "that Faith believed everywhere at all times by all." We read in Acts that St. James AND NOT St. Peter presided at the first council of the Church. We also learn St. Peter was also firstly Bishop of Antioch, not Rome. And we know the Church was ruled by Councils and not papal monarchy. Thus, the rcs are heretics, can't be Catholic and the True Church survives to this day in Orthodoxy and the pope says as much. Moreover, the filth of unia is the result of murders and coercions. Thats is in no way indicative of the Church of the Holy Apostles. Galicians are in papal slavery and too ignorant to realize it and quite outside the Church. Reunion with Russia will clear things up. LOL!

They can build one with fresh dollars and seeing as how the unia is doomed to failure, they'll get that one back too. Recognition for CARPATHO-RUTHENIANS now!

Well, Pokrovsky, it looks like you've made a fine Greek Catholic friend in Felipe Góes! No doubt a majority of this congregation was Orthodox, and now they have to buy a new church.

Ukrainian Catholics are part of the Universal Catholic Church and due to it its influence will grow up inside Ukrainian nation till Catholic faith prevail. Orthodoxy is a schism, a religion that didn´t have unity and Catholicism is a universal religion with 1,1 billion of faithfuls. However schismatics are divided in Russians, Greeks, Bulgarians and others and it is a mark of unequality and Orthodoxy won't be Christ's Church.

Another difference between Carpatho-Russians and Galicians: THEY PAY FOR THINGS AND DON'T RESORT TO BRUTALITY AND GOVERNMENT COERCION. RECOGNITION FOR CARPATHO-RUTHENIANS NOW! Down with galician neo-nazism!
