Polish Roman Catholics Given Icon with Relics of Ukrainian Saint

Polish Roman Catholics Given Icon with Relics of Ukrainian SaintLublin, Poland – An icon with relics of Blessed Bishop Mykolai Chernetskyi was presented on 22 April 2007 to the Roman Catholic parish in Horodel, Lublin County, Poland, by the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Province of the Redemptorist order. The relic will be kept at the former Greek Catholic church in Horodel, which was blessed by then Fr. Charnetskyi 70 years ago. Today the building is a Roman Catholic church.

The icon with relics was brought to the church by Archbishop Jan (Ivan) Martyniak of Przemysl and Warsaw of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church and Fr. Henrich Krukowski, the local Roman Catholic pastor.

The photo shows the Church of St. Josaphat in Lviv, a Redemptorist parish where relics of Blessed Mykolai are kept.
