Kyiv – On 19 November 2006, new ruling Bishop Irynei (Klipenstein) of the Odesa Eparchy of the Rusyn True-Orthodox Church (RTOC) started his first pastoral visit of Ukraine. Before his appointment to the Ukrainian see, he was the head of the Vernensko-Semyrichenska see of the RTOC in Kazakhstan. RISU’s Ukrainian-language site posted the news on 27 December 2006.
In Kyiv, Bishop Irynei met with clergy and laity of the RTOC. On that day he blessed the episcopal throne of the new church building on the left bank of Kyiv; after that, the first Liturgy was served there.
At that time, the miraculous icon of the Mother of God of Iversk, patroness of the RTOC, was brought to Kyiv and Bishop Iryney conducted a moleben (prayer service).
The hierarch visited the parishes of the RTOC in Odesa, Khmelnytskyi, and other cities of Ukraine.
