State Discusses Religious Situation in Transcarpathia

Uzzhorod – On 6 July 2006, the assistant head of the Regional Administration in southwestern Ukrainian Transcarpathia (TRA), I. Kachur, held a meeting on questions of the religious situation in the region and ways of solving religious conflicts. Among those participating were the acting head of the Department on Questions of Internal Policy of the TRA, N. Tokarchyk, representatives of the Office of the Public Prosecutor, the regional Department of Justice, and the Legal Department of the TRA.

Those present passed a resolution to develop a draft authorization for the head of the TRA on the mentioned questions designating specific executives in order to reduce tension in interdenominational arguments.
