Ukrainian Interchurch Council Publishes Statement On 1020th Anniversary of Baptism of Kyivan Rus

Kyiv—“We are grateful to God for the fact that 1020 years ago, our forefathers, headed by Prince Volodymyr, made the right choice, the choice of Light, Truth, Salvation, Life and Good. We are proud that Ukraine is the successor of Kyivan Rus,” says the statement of the Ukrainian Interchurch Council. The council’s members note that the present age tests mankind with materialism, lack of spirituality and amorality, and therefore, “every new generation must receive its own baptism into the Christian faith.”
