Lviv — The Christian-Democratic Union of Youth (CDUY) had a congress in western Ukrainian Krekhiv, Zhovkva District, Lviv Region, from 16-19 July 2006. Approximately 40 representatives from all Ukraine assembled there under the slogan “Let’s build a temple together.” “The main task of the congress was working for and strengthening interdenominational tolerance among the members of the union, which has representatives not only from various denominations but from [various] religions, and also the forming of educational activities of the organization,” said Eduard Elin, head of CDUY.

Lviv — Patriarch Lubomyr (Husar), head of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church (UGCC), meeting with all eight heads of men’s and women’s monastic communities of the UGCC, presented Bishop Hlib Lonchyna as exarchate in matters of monastic life. The meeting occurred in western Ukrainian Lviv on 18 July 2006.
