
Born 26 August 1946, he was ordained in 1969 and became pastor of the Armenian
community in Rostov. From 1971 to 1973 and from 1975 to 1979 he was pastor of
the Armenian community in Lyon and Paris, at the same time continuing his education.
In 1975 he was named archimandrite and from 1979 to 1980 he was the rector of
the seminary in Echmiadzin (Armenia). On 26 October 1983 he was ordained bishop.
From 1981 to 1990 he was the head of the Armenian Diocese in Argentina. From
1990 to 1997 he was the head of the Armenian Diocese in Shiraka. In 2000 he
was responsible for the Armenian diocese in Armaviry and in 2001 Armenian Catholicos
Karekin named him head of the Ukrainian diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church.
