The Ministry of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine has disclosed the initiation of the project selection process for the restoration, conservation, and repair of cultural heritage sites across the country.

Projects that adhere to the legal requirements will be considered for participation in the selection process, as reported by Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty.

Given the ongoing challenges posed by Russian aggression, the Ministry has outlined key priorities for project selection within the scope of the "Great Construction" program throughout 2024:

- Projects initiated in previous years, including those nearing completion, such as restoration, conservation, repair projects, and urgent emergency and conservation work on cultural heritage sites (not exceeding 20% completion).
- Preservation of sites designated as UNESCO World Heritage Sites (for cultural heritage sites).
- Urgent interventions for objects in emergency conditions.
- Installation and repair of engineering networks at sites and their premises, as well as cultural institutions (including fire protection systems, water supply, heating, etc.).
- Emergency and urgent conservation projects for objects impacted by Russian armed aggression.

The Ministry of Culture has reported that since the commencement of the full-scale invasion on February 24, 2022, until March 25, 2024, Russian aggression has resulted in the destruction or damage of 1,046 cultural heritage sites.
